Boon Lay Projects: Boon Lay Clean-Up! and Heartland Kindness Mural Project

The Boon Lay Clean Up! project was a community-driven initiative by the Boon Lay Youth Network and Boon Lay Residents’ Network (Zones A, C, and D) to promote a cleaner, more sustainable living environment. Spearheaded by local community groups with the National Environment Agency and West Coast Town Council, the project addressed littering and waste management through regular clean-up sessions, youth involvement, and strategic signages in high-traffic areas. The initiative improved neighbourhood cleanliness, fostered community pride, and strengthened bonds across diverse groups. Its focus on education and infrastructure aimed to ensure lasting behavioural changes.

The Heartland Kindness Mural project was a community-driven initiative by Boon Lay Zone D Residents’ Network, Boon Lay Youth Network, and Boon Lay Community Arts and Culture Club to promote gracious living and environmental stewardship. A series of vibrant murals was installed in a prominent area of the neighbourhood, featuring eye-catching visuals and clear messages on responsible behaviour in shared spaces. The murals served as constant reminders for residents to keep corridors clutter-free, park bicycles properly, and maintain cleanliness in communal areas.
