Community Toolkit for a Better Living Environment
Developed by MSO in collaboration with Temasek Polytechnic, the “Community Toolkit for a Better Living Environment” is your practical guide to starting ground-up projects that improve the community and living environment.
Built on principles of behavioural science, the toolkit helps communities identify local needs, develop tailored solutions, and evaluate outcomes to address municipal issues.

(Working Together for Better Living Environments)

Our community plays an important role in shaping the neighbourhoods we live in. By taking shared responsibility for our common spaces, residents can help create cleaner, safer, and more pleasant environments for everyone. Through these case studies, we hope to showcase how residents, together with community partners and agencies, have come together to develop solutions to address municipal issues, promote considerate behaviours, and encourage pro-social norms.
Participants who wish to implement their ideas after the Love Our Hood Initiative workshops may tap on funding sources, such as the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY)’s SG Partnerships Fund, the National Environment Agency (NEA)’s Partnership Fund, and other community grants offered by various agencies. These funding sources support citizen-led initiatives that benefit the community.
Interested community groups or residents may also explore support through sponsorships and community funds administered by local grassroots organisations. Applicants are encouraged to review the eligibility criteria and funding guidelines of each fund to identify the most suitable source of support for their project.
