Amin exhibited a collaborative mindset to manage feedback from residents. A resident gave feedback about a mature Rain Tree behind his house, in the car park managed by URA. Structural issues underground had caused the tree to grow in a slanted manner, posing risk to public safety and the surrounding properties.
Amin alerted his counterparts in URA and worked with them to resolve the issue in a timely manner. The work included arranging for the tree inspection and speaking to the residents personally to allay their worries regarding safety. Removal of trees can be time consuming and moreover, the tree was located at the edge of the car park perimeter, abutting one of the houses’ retaining wall. The team had to be careful to ensure no damages to the structures or properties nearby. Additional time was also needed to examine the self-sown vegetation on the retaining wall, exposed roots, and ground condition. By promptly enlisting the help of relevant agencies and coordinating with them, these works were completed ahead of time, within four working days.
