Building Safer Streets Together: A Community Partnership for Pedestrian Safety at Khatib MRT
17 November 2025
The project created a safer neighbourhood by incorporating thoughtfully designed safety features to encourage behavioural change. To raise awareness of road safety, the Singapore Kindness Movement and partner agencies installed four standees and two directional banners at high-traffic roads. The standees were strategically placed to guide residents away from dangerous jaywalking areas and towards proper Signalised Pedestrian Crossings. Messages on the standees were simple and clear, promoting safer choices. The initiative was made possible through close collaboration between agencies, with each contributing data, infrastructure, messaging, and community insights.
