The National Parks Board (NParks) opened Bukit Gombak Park in Sep 2021. In planning for Bukit Gombak Park, NParks worked with Bukit Gombak Grassroot Leaders (GRLs) to engage residents and gather feedback on features they would like to have in the park. The feedback from residents shaped the development of the new park and it was built with amenities that meet the diverse recreational needs of the community. The engagement helped residents feel a sense of ownership for the park, having played a key role during its development.
In addition, the team worked with interest groups to develop ground up initiatives that will help to promote better appreciation and responsible use of the park. These included butterfly interest groups, which generated interest and educational opportunities for the community.
Today, visitors to the 4.8-hectare park can look forward to tranquil areas to enjoy nature, with recreational spaces that cater to visitors of all ages, and opportunities to experience gardening.
As Singapore transforms into a City in Nature, engaging the community in the development of our green spaces will not only help us design parks that will better meet the needs and aspirations of Singaporeans, but also promote greater community ownership and stewardship of our parks.

In planning for Bukit Gombak Park, NParks worked with Bukit Gombak Grassroots Leaders (GRLs) and engaged residents to gather feedback on features they would like to have in the park. The Butterfly Garden which allows visitors to get up-close to nature is one of them. It features butterfly-attracting plants.

Bukit Gombak Park has various features that cater to different groups of residents and their recreational needs, including an outdoor fitness area with exercise equipment.

The first in the Bukit Gombak area, the dog run is sited on a hill with a sloped terrain for dogs to run unleashed, and benches for dog owners to rest.
