Hoarding Cases in Nee Soon East

The team from Nee Soon East Youth Network and Yishun Palm Springs Residents’ Committee has been actively helping to handle hoarding cases in Nee Soon East. They are passionate in assisting beneficiaries who need help in clearing their houses.
Some of their beneficiaries include seniors with mobility issues, who faced difficulties in tending to their houses by themselves. For example, in March 2021, the team helped to clear out hoarded items and repainted the walls of one of the rooms in an elderly resident’s home. Staff and estate cleaners from the Nee Soon Town Council also gave their support, and with their help, the volunteers from the Youth Network and Palm Springs Residents’ Committee were able to clear the items efficiently. The resident was then able to rent out the room and have a source of income.
Most of the beneficiaries were referred to the team by the Residents’ Committees and Agency for Integrative Care during their house visits, while others were referred by concerned neighbours.
