Neighbourhood Toilets Community Group
17 November 2025
The Neighbourhood Toilets Community Group (NTCG), initiated by the Public Hygiene Council (PHC), aimed to drive collective responsibility for public toilet cleanliness. The initiative fostered partnerships between premises operators, the local community, and volunteers. Operators were encouraged to improve cleaning frequency, while volunteers monitored cleanliness, reported maintenance issues, and engaged users on good toilet etiquette. The first pilot in April 2022, in partnership with Yuhua Citizens' Consultative Committee and Jurong-Clementi Town Council, was successful.
PHC has since expanded the initiative to more coffeeshops, transport nodes, with plans for further growth.
