Restoring Peace and Harmony in Sin Ming
1 October 2024
During the Circuit Breaker in 2020, residents and members of the public submitted feedback on the growing chicken population in Sin Ming Court. In response, a taskforce comprising resident volunteers, representatives from Bishan-Toa Payoh Town Council and NParks was set up to address the feedback. Some of the measures taken include:
Campaigns to educate residents not to feed the chickens;
Relocation of the chickens to farms;
Habitat modification - tree pruning to make trees less attractive for roosting; and
Regular surveys to estimate the number of chickens in the estates.
